It could have been worse

Two weeks ago in Summit Point, West Virginia I was taken out by another rider while acting as Control Rider for NESBA, in the Intermediate Group. The video is quite long and not really clear, anyhow the accident happened going into the last turn, T10: I am wearing the orange shirt. Luckily both of us were able to walk away from the accident with just a few bruises and abrasions but nothing to serious.

Ouch!
Glad to hear you're OK after that one. That was seriously bad luck, it looked like he was going to crash all on his own until the very last moment.

Thank you Jimmy for your concern. Between T9 and T10 the track goes uphill and then downhill right before the braking area, so the transition from throttle to braking happens with forks that are FULLY extended. I think that the other rider didn't settle the bike before pulling hard the front brake, so he ended up locking the front tire and making impossible to avoid me

Well, let's just hope that it was a one-off mistake and he's learned his lesson now.

Hi Alex!

So sad to see our baby go down like that, however, as we found outlast weekend, sometimes you don't even need another riders help to take a slide! After taking a long look at the bike, I'm sure I know what happend and I'm looking forward to working it on it next spring if not sooner. Talk to you soon!

Tim, last Sunday my friend too went down on T9 in Pocono East: a bit too much accelleration off the turn for that lean angle and he highsided. Unfortunately crashing is part of this sport and like a friend of mine says if it wasn't we would not experience any adrenaline, because it would be like a video game: for how long can you play it before getting bored?
